Miniroos and Junior Football

  • Miniroos Football - Ages 5 to 11 (entry level miniroos ages 5 to 7, junior miniroos ages 8 to 11)

Miniroos is entry level and junior football for players aged 5 to 11 years old (must turn 5 in the playing year to register). The focus is on fun, participation and developing skills in a non-competitive environment and is a great starting point for children who want to try a team sport. No scores are recorded.

team organisation

For the first few weeks of the season (starting February) we may run mixed ages training sessions until enough players are registered and for the purpose of trials and ‘have a go’ days. Players will be then sorted into age groups to form individual teams. Please note, players belong to a team according the age they are turning in the calendar year. For example: Ben is 5 years old at the start of season but turns 6 in June, he belongs in Grade 6 team.

Each junior team must have a coach and a team manager. As a volunteer run sports club, we rely on parents to fulfil these roles. A muster day will be held where team organisation is agreed on. Please note that all player fees must be paid by the muster day for players to be allocated into a team.

Coaches and managers will be provided with their team’s player’s primary contact details for the purpose of communicating each week about training and game times, any changes to the schedule or important club information.

miniroos coaching

Suffolk Park FC is a volunteer run club and miniroo teams are generally coached and managed by a volunteer parent with the assistance of our committee and junior coach coordinator. Coaching is both challenging and rewarding and is a great way to get involved in your child’s sporting activities and get to know them and their friends better. If you are interested in coaching, please get in contact.
